A pewter column worked like the scales of a shell. Scalloped fans of beads and stones cover the gown from strap to hem, each fan centred on a single teardrop stone. Stone edged straps hold a sweetheart bodice, and a curved opening between the cups runs to the waist. The sheer ground lets the pattern stand clear on the body.
