Prom is emotional, expensive, and deadline-driven. Malik Alexander was built to make the process clear. Before production begins, we review the piece, event date, measurements, and delivery timeline so your child is not left guessing.

How Ordering Works

Your child browses The Roster (men's tuxedos) or The Estate (women's gowns) and finds the piece they want.

They — or you — click Commission This Piece and complete a short form with name, email, phone number, event date, and city.

A 50% deposit is collected at checkout. The remaining balance is collected before shipping.

Within 24 hours, a Malik Alexander stylist contacts you by text to confirm the order details and walk through measurements.

Once measurements are approved, production begins. Your piece ships in as little as 2 weeks after measurement approval.

Pricing and Deposit Explained

Men's tuxedos are priced at three tiers: The Foundation at $500, The Empire at $650, and The Throne at $800. What you see is what you pay.

Women's gowns range from $895 for The Legacy collection up to $2,200 and above for The Coronation collection.

At checkout you pay a 50% deposit to secure the commission and begin production. The remaining balance is due before your piece ships.

Rush delivery — ships in approximately 1 week — is available for an additional $100.

Free standard shipping is included on every order. No hidden fees.

The Measurement Process

After your deposit is received, a stylist texts you a simple measurement guide. The process takes approximately 5 minutes.

Every measurement is triple-verified by our team before production begins. We confirm chest, waist, and inseam for men. Bust, waist, and hip for women.

If any measurement looks unusual our stylists will contact you directly before proceeding. We do not guess.

This triple-lock verification process is the foundation of our fit guarantee. If our team approves measurements incorrectly or production does not match the approved spec, we take responsibility.

Production Timeline

Standard production and delivery: as little as 2 weeks after measurement approval.

Rush production and delivery: approximately 1 week after measurement approval, for an additional $100.

We recommend ordering at least 4 to 6 weeks before the event date for the smoothest experience. Rush options may be available for events within 2 weeks — text us before ordering.

If you are ordering for an April prom, commission now. May prom — commission by late April. June prom — you have more time but production slots fill.

Your stylist will confirm a specific expected delivery date during the measurement call.

Event-Date Planning

During the measurement call, your stylist will note your event date and flag if there are any timeline concerns.

If your event is within 2 weeks of ordering, we will discuss rush options with you directly before proceeding.

We track production milestones internally and will notify you if anything changes on the production timeline.

Delivery is via free standard shipping with tracking. You will receive a tracking number when your piece ships.

What Happens If Something Is Wrong

Every piece is made to the exact measurements you provided and verified by our team. Manufacturing defects are rare but we stand behind our work.

If your piece arrives with a proven manufacturing defect — wrong color from what was ordered, measurements significantly off from the approved spec, or crystal damage — you have 48 hours from delivery to contact us with photos as proof.

We will review the photos and if the error is confirmed on our end, we will either remake the piece or issue a partial credit at our discretion.

Returns are not accepted for fit issues related to measurements that were approved by the customer, or for personal preference changes after delivery.

This policy protects both you and us. Every piece is custom-made for one person. We take that seriously.
